I grew up in the bush and played footy with some great aboriginal players.

Jimmy Abdulla was our big full forward.

Norm Trip was our star centreman that no one could get near because he was so fast and skilful.  We won a premiership thanks to the aboriginal players in our team.

Here’s a bit of aboriginal and white history.

Some atrocities in the public Annual Report for 1837 including:

---the ripping open of the bellies of the blacks alive.

---the roasting of them in triangularly made log fires.

---the dashing of infants upon the stones.

-- letting them out of a hut singly to be butchered as they tried to escape.

Around Sydney the thousands of Aborigines .. . decreased to hundreds, the hundreds have lessened to tens, and the tens will dwindle into units, before a very few years shall have passed away.

An eight-year-old girl who came to the mission suffering from venereal disease was one of four such children kept by one stockman.

The medical practitioner, George Worgan observed in the first few months of white settlement that the Aborigines 'seemingly enjoy uninterrupted health and live to a great age'. Shortly afterwards he observed venereal disease made its first appearances among the convicts, not the Aborigines.

In the Liverpool Plains, 500 Aboriginal people had been massacred in a year and a half.

In eastern Victoria, the 2000 Kurnal people had been reduced to 250 during the 1840s, mostly massacred and unrecorded. In the Bruthen Creek area in 1842 there was large scale systematic hunting of Aborigines who were 'shot by hundreds'.
