I didn't realize shortly after he arrived in the colony in 1824, Arthur began stockpiling weapons, blurring the lines between military men and civilians.

 

Military officers and soldiers were given civil powers and former soldiers were encouraged to settle in Van Diemen’s Land and to help quell Aboriginal resistance. 

Settlers were issued with hundreds of guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition and convicts who fought against Aboriginal people were rewarded.

It’s an easy read and the many posters who seem to have a low opinion of the Aboriginals would gain some important information about how the natives were dealt with throughout the county.

Also, how, they implemented government sanctioned genocide to ensure the land was in fact Terra Nullius.
