i actually went to a free education school that was very effective (though it had a ex private system principal who was very proactive in his encouragement of new cutting edge teaching methods and tried a few things and programs like accelerated learning for students via teachers ie speed reading, memory mapping and so forth mind maps etc) that are still being used today and have made the school one of the top 5% of performing schools australia wide (public schools with plenty of TER scores being very high) on minimal funding.
