the greens are in that awkward position of losing relevance.

the world is becoming "greener" and if the world becomes greener, what relevance will the greens have. how could we distinguish the greens in a greener world?

the end result will be that the hard line greens will begin to come to the fore and a new extreme green will be born.

i guess it's a bit like the difference between a vegan and a vegetarian....if vegetarians stopped all the killing of animals for food then the vegans would take over and start protecting chicken eggs and cows udders.

the greens in one form or another will always be with us because it's an industry and our green politicians may find themselves out of a job if they don't have something, ANYTHING, to campaign against.....and protestors may have to find a job.
