What is now forgotten by most politicians is that they are put in parliament by their individual electorates, and their first responsibility is to reflect the wishes of their electorates ahead of their own in the way they act and vote.

The system is a mess because the politicians now see being an MHR as having the right to push their own personal views and values. Their electors who put them there can go to Hell.

If we needed evidence of this, it is when we see a comment in the Russian press referring to Jacqui Lambie as "a senior politician".
Similarly, its the views of Lambie, Palmer, Milne etc, that we see on the news, not the views of the the people that we put there to govern.
