This statement is correct. She is a Senator in our current Government! That is the higher house.

I believe your above sentiments are correct however!
What Lambie is doing, is to show the Australian voter that our electoral system needs some adjustment!
This is currently under review I believe.

In the case of individual politicians representing an electorate. I think those voters have to also understand that politicians who represents them belongs to a party. The party has its own policy's, so these have to be taken into account.

So we can see why Nick Xenophon as Independent can relate possibly more closely to those who elected him.
I have great faith that the system will get some improvements! In the near future, and prior to the next election!!
