    To be honest, that was said somewhat tongue in cheek and to some degree I agree with your point, although investment property owners took a risk.

    Controlling rents sounds like something that came from a party that isn't in power and therefore doesn't have to think too hard about the actual implementation of the policy.

    my real question would be that if a place to live was considered a basic human right, why has policy allowed housing to rapidly (recent decades) to become unafforadable? Besides the fact that politicians of all levels and ilks would no longer receive donations from developers

    More importantly, what steps will be taken to rectify the situation without royally screwing over homeowners?
