rose2004, my point stands. The 2010 election is testament to the electorate's loss of patience over the majors' longstanding identity crisis and lack of policy differentiation on truly important policy areas - something which neither Gillard nor Abbott have set about addressing so far.
As for vertigo's point, the Greens have been enjoying a steady increase in their primary vote at Federal level since the nineties. To borrow sharemarket parlance, the latest Victorian result a flat close at worst. However, I think there's something to be said for notion that state level Greens campaigns will have a tough time of it whilst the ALP-GRN alliance holds in Canberra.
