Deflation?
The deflation "myth" is a spin story put out by Greenspan and crew to try to justify the pumping up the money supply figures caused the huge credit creation by the GSE's and the banks.
There is no deflation in the US and there won't be. If the dollar falls further, the US will import inflation in the form of higher import prices.
The stock market falling won't cause deflation and bursting of the RE bubble won't cause deflation. Many are confusing asset price falls with deflation.
As one columnist put it: "When the stock market was going up by leaps and bounds did anyone call it inflation?" So why should the opposite be true? It won't.
