Ceramic Fuel Cells GmbH, BlueGen micro power plant based on fuel cells

BlueGen is the first market-ready micro power plant based on fuel cells for residential buildings, public institutions and small businesses. Similar to use of fuel cell batteries, for generating electricity and an electrochemical reaction can continuously generate electricity with high efficiency and with the proviso of a constant supply of fuel and air. The fuel is not burned but converted directly into electricity, heat and water. Compared with traditional technologies, fuel cells produce only a small amount of CO2 and work 2 - to 3-times as efficient.

BlueGen a micro power plant provides up to 13,000 kilowatt hours of electricity per year - all year, emissions and decentralized, where the energy is needed. Due to the unique high electrical efficiency of up to 60 percent drop compared to the German electricity mix to 50 percent less CO2 emissions. The overall efficiency increases with use of thermal energy to as much as 85 percent. At the same time customers can halve the running costs roughly.
