    bourbaki12, I think is quite interesting that you, and i assume many others feel that after seeing a fictional movie that romantises everything including the aborigines you can say:

    'I think Lurhmann gives sufficient weighting to the plight of aborigines.'

    i dont like GG, but I have to agree with her on the movie as portraying a political correct and in providing a sanatised view acceptable to the community.

    Hate to have seen a 7 up type documentary on a group of aborigines as it would make a very palatable view to australians but in romaticised 'doco' type movie so much better.

    It seems that if a policitcal view or a plight of a group of people is presented in a movie it makes the issue so much more true even though it is based on ficition and extrapoloted arguements or restricted to only the good bits.
