I have done some work recently on constructed narratives and the stories we tell ourselves because conflict is only ever resolved satisfactorily if there is an understanding firstly of those narratives and secondly of their meaning and legitimacy to the narrative owner The second stage is far harder / to find a way of closing the gap between those narratives.
for you it seems to be about territorial expansion for the sake of it. For me history suggests far more that it is about security and existence. There have been enough confirmed and evidence based offers from Israel to give up land in return for peace ti suggest to me that had Arabs ever simply accepted that the mandate had been divided up in their favour and then got on with making something of themselves that would have been it

For Israel and Israelis their very clear drivers for over a hundred years has been to face the chance of self determination, of life without people seeking to destroy their people (Jews and now any Israeli), making a contribution to the world. Educating their people, living decent lives and celebrating that which they have. I believe all of these are present for those who visit Israel These experience a resilient determined people
for Palestinians after years of jihadist thinking, for Hezbollah, Iran, Gaza and Hamas, success is not determined by the extent to which their society is productive and functioning and educated. It is defined by whether they eliminate Israel and destroy western life as we currently know it. It’s that simple. Their people are only a means to that end. There is nothing else
