i appreciate that not everyone can own, and if it were only the lower echelons of society that do not have the ability.....that would be understandable......but when the average person - of whom there are a large number by definition - cannot own, then there is a problem

in a city environment, the most common of jobs is that of 'office administration'.....this takes into account all manner of receptionists/public servants/etc....i use this example because it is fair to define this job as the average job due to the large number employed in the role......this job also draws similar to the average wage.....a junior will earn $40k-$55k, a senior will earn $55k-$70k.....a quick search of seek will confirm both the large number of office admin roles, and the salary range

it is absolutely impossible for any people earning the $40k-$55k salary range to buy a house.....anywhere.....including the cookie-cutter, poorly constructed, outer suburbs

this is not a minority who can not own, it is a majority of the younger generation who can not own....and undeservedly so

you talk about home ownership as if it should be confined to the elite upper-class (those who were lucky enough to buy into the NG ponzi scheme at its incepetion).....if you are working and earning an average wage, you should be able to buy an average house
