i hope you are right with reference to Stone,i sincerely do,however i have dealt with many people with a fixed mindset,which i suspect Stone may have and have found,that in others i have dealt with,on the whole their actions are

1/rarely commercially logical,even if self destructive.

2/unwilling to enter uncharted territory.

3/unwilling to live without a controlling interest.

I feel that all 3 are likely issues with Stone.Particularly the last issue,being a minority holder,without any say.I have always suspected a deal for quick cash,gone sour,with no intention to tilt for CRE as you are well aware.

If you can't deal with them and you are contracturally tied to them,as in the case of CRE,then sometimes the only option left is to freeze the transaction,or restrict any input or removal of assets(cash or otherwise)until their need is greater than their reluctance to deal in what you or i would call a commercially responsible manner.

There is a cultural divide here as well.

Lets hope i am wrong,it would be to the benefit of us all including Stone.Win/Win always beats Lose and someone being thrashed,or Lose/Lose
