    I think you've been reading articles by Adam Creighton - big mistake.

    He forgets to mention certain things like his data was based purely around government pension payments family tax benefit payments and the like but didn't factor in the concessions such as high end super contributions and negative gearing. Whoops there goes the level playing field.

    The wealthiest 20% of households in Australia account for 61% of total household net worth, with an average net worth of $2.2 million per household. So unsurprisingly they pay more tax - unbelievable

    The poorest 20% of households account for 1% of total household net worth, with an average net worth of $31,205 per household.

    Knock me over a feather - they pay less tax.

    Simple fact - 10% of income earners gain 40% of the benefits of the total tax concessions available for super (Total cost of that scheme around) $15B a year.

    I've got nothing against trimming payments where they are overgenerous - but that's the difference between me and you - you only think that as long as they don't affect you.
