    dc76, you said:

"We all have our opinions but it is definately not courageous to spend large amounts of money when its not yours in the first place and you wont be around to pay it off."

a bit of a nonsense there. Governments are there to govern and manage the country on our behalf and that includes spending its revenue where necessary for our long term benefits. Dealing with the GFC is one very good example.

dc76, if I were to apply what you said literally, then no government should spend any money at all, including those billions of dollars "spent" by the Howard government in its 11 years in office. No government would have "spent" any money since federation and Australia would have stayed the way it was. It is just pure nonsense. You need to be a lot more coherent in your reasoning.

But, I believe that is not what you are saying. What you are saying is that you do not agree with this government spending the money to help the nation dealing with the effects of the GFC. What you are saying is that you do not want our government to help those thousands of small and medium size business owners to survive and to save their hard earned assets. What you are saying is you do not want our government to try to save the jobs of thousands of workers who would have lost their jobs. Yes, you are entitled to that opinion.
