    I am not sure if this reg has changed but some years ago I read that any extension application can only be lodged within the last 2 years of the life of the patent. If that is true, then BLT will not be able to lodge an application for patent extension until 2016.

    I guess this allows for all circumstance to the accounted for in a single application.
