In business you need to be asking the hard questions, have robust thoughts about whether what you are seeing correlates to what is already known. You need to have strategies to move forward, and strategies to exit if the current situation changes due to foreseeable or unforeseeable circumstances.
Attempting in the past to openly find such answers in the HC forums left me shaking my head. I actually thought this was a forum to gain fact. I was wrong and stopped posting. A few points that I have noted here.
Some people seem to think that what is written here in some way influences the management teams of these companies. Based on my working life experience, very few in a senior management team have the time to kiss their children good night never mind scratching through a HC forum.
Anything that is written here and is not directed at putting a positive light on the share is downramping to buy the share. In my opinion, if anyone prepared to buy or sell based purely on what they read on HC, then I think they seriously need assistance with day to day life. Anyone who thinks joe average is swayed by what is written here and that Hot Copper has the influence to modify all but the smallest cap share is delusional and to use that as a retort in a post shows an immaturity akin to children.
The way Shephen Hunt is written about here is suprising. Most write of him as if they personally have had business dealings with him.. Now I do not know the man and know little of his history, but to simply assume he jumped to MOZ to back a winner in naive. There is a multitude of reasons why he may have left Magnis. It might have been family related, personally related, performance related... Anything..
I note there is very little robust debate and that there are very few fundamentals offered up to support view points. The few that have tried to use data have been shot down by those who seem to lack the ability to interperate that data. Some use second hand data, or promotional videos to explain their thoughts.
Not one person I have seen has done the basis math in simple calcs here to explain how they came to their conclusion on what MOZ is sitting on in the ground. It might be in the pages here, but I haven't seen it... I simply skim here for traces of data. One person who gave some thoughts on their interpretation of the recent results was asked to apologize to the forum if the future results don't reflect what the current result seemed to show. Wow... Just wow. That poster is coming up with figures but refuses to explain the calculations on how they came up with such figures.
I asked a question recently about how people are going to power all these new generation Ni cad batteries... We have issues with coal, diesel, nuc, and limited hydro power stations already. I'd like to see critical thinking and robust discussion on where the extra power generation will actually come from. To just say solar or wind is not enough, someone needs to be fronting up the money for this infrastucture. And it takes time. A lot of time. Greens will attempt to block it. The coal industy will try to block new alternatives. Governments will ignore it. So how will we power these batteries?
I'd love this forum to be a think tank or critical and analytical thinking but I see it as just a trumped up fan boy site.
