I don't know much about Ivermectin but I've listened to several doctors and an ICU nurse who have said it's effective. If I recall right, Tess Lawrie of the Evidence Based Medical Consultancy in Bath who does analyses for organisations such as the WHO, did a meta analysis finding strong efficacy.

No, I don't see Ivermectin as competition. The FDA recommends against it. According to the above letter, doctors in the UK who have attempted to discuss Ivermectin have been heavily censored.
