What I have seen is the evidence that Mesoblast presented which showed dexamethasone alone provided no mortality benefit while Remestemcel-L + dexamethasone reduced mortality in <65's by 77% at day 90 (p=0.0037).
So to answer your question, based on the scientific evidence, no dexamethasone alone provided no benefit in these patients. As @LearningEachDay has shown Remestemcel-L alone also appeqred to provide no benefit. However together they appear to have provided a significant reduction in mortality that has the potential to save many thousands of lives from COVID-19 and all cause ARDS .
