The Mesoblast CMO is taking the lead on this at the moment (I believe that Silviu has put him in charge of FDA & NIH interactions on the next Covid trial). So how can the company be so confident that they’re doing a pivotal Phase 3 trial on COVID ARDS? Whilst I fully believe that Novartis are coming on board right after OTAT (could happen in next week or two), the company has confidence in my view because of the NIH. The NIH has direct contact with the best medical centers in the USA and can get this trial up and running quickly, except this time it’s going to be taken extremely seriously as they have the data.
Maybe Novartis will coordinate the EU hospitals that join the trial?
i do expect this to be a newsworthy announcement with NIH also putting out a direct press release.

Now on the subject of vaccines:
I believe the vaccine makers aren’t being realistic saying that they plan to make a new vaccine for each variant. To date NOT ONE vaccine maker has come out with a vaccine against the Delta variant. They are all the same old vaccines which work against the spike protein in the original wild type Covid virus. Easier said than done, otherwise they would have already done it.
Also, if you read the below link, you’ll understand why OMICRON might be starting out as a mild disease, however the potential for much worse things to happen. Whilst I don’t agree with everything that Prof Geert says, I do agree with him that throwing “leaky” covid vaccines isn’t going to keep working and could lead to problems. I myself am seriously thinking not to get a booster shot as I already got a breakthrough infection and believe that natural immunity maybe better?! Whilst I fully accept that the vaccines worked well in last year against serious illness, I do believe that the playbook shall not keep working out how the government scientists are hypothesizing, and sooner or later some of Prof Geert’s predictions shall come true.
There are a handful of brilliant scientists that think the same way. One of them is one of the smartest and richest biotechnology scientists of all time (Patrick Soon-Shiong), whom is literally begging the establishment to rethink the flawed vaccination strategies.

So why is this relevant to MSB? Some people (NIH scientists etc) know that therapeutics are going to become critically important again and Mesoblast’s therapy for serious COVID ARDS cases shall be part of the arsenal. Stay tuned, as I think an announcement is coming soon on this.

Finally here is what Prof Geert had to say about the OMICRON being possibly milder:

As the scientifically perverse narrative continues to add fuel to the fire, it is difficult to believe that Omicron will be the end station of the pandemic train that’s out of control. Omicron is likely to start out as a mild disease because short-lived, poorly functional anti-S antibodies (Abs) that resulted from previous asymptomatic infection (e.g., with another previously dominant variant) will no longer recognize Omicron. It is, indeed, highly likely that resistance of Omicron will not be limited to vaccinal Abs but also to naturally induced low affinity Abs that result from asymptomatic/ mild infection. Consequently, Abs from such previous infection would no longer compete with relevant innate Abs for binding to the virus. Individuals who previously contracted asymptomatic/ mild infection will, therefore, be able to fully rely on their first line of immune defense to deal with Omicron. This will leave our ‘experts’ with the impression that the virus (in fact Omicron) is becoming less virulent (than Delta) and is on its way to transit into endemicity. However, the overall pattern of ‘mild’ disease would only prevail until Omicron becomes dominant and causes high infection rates. When this happens, short-lived, low affinity anti-S Abs will start to compete with innate Abs in an increasing part of the population as a direct result of the enhanced likelihood of re- exposure shortly after previous infection. High Omicron infection rates will prevent short-lived, poorly functional anti-S Abs from declining in large parts of the population. This, combined with continued mass vaccination with (inevitable?) anti-Omicron vaccines, will enable large populations to exert immune pressure on Omicron’s infectiousness. None of these immune responses is, however, capable of curtailingviral transmission (it’s now widely acknowledged that the type of C-19 vaccines used by the industry is not capable of blocking transmission).

Aqua .. great observation .. NIH great contenders to fund confirmatory trial for ARDS . This is a real possibility.

BUT , I don’t think they will get the opportunity .. as Novartis are the front runners . Can you hypothesise why Novartis are still around ? ( IMO why their very keen)

I noted this before in my last post but not sure if I got my message across ... it’s not just about the efficacy of Rynocil.. it’s about the super duper combination of Rynocil & Dexa..

The key ( excitement) is how Dexa powerfully works with Rynocil and how the FDA approved Dexa as not ONLY treatment for Covid ARDS...

... bur ALSO for ALL CAUSE ARDS ..for

Just stop and think for a moment .. .. DEXA is FDA approved for ALL CAUSE ARDS !
