Of course I expect a hospital bed if I get sick?
If you were/are a drug addict or alcoholic and overdose etc. would you not expect a bed and treatment? What type of society would not do that?

Go and live in the Phillipines. See how you like it. The ruler of the Phillipines went on national tv last year and told the people that if they protest against not having food and water due to the pandemic then they will be shot down in the street by the police and army. He wasn’t joking.
Go live there! It’s exactly what you described.
Be careful what you wish for. Australia is a close neighbour to the Phillipines and hasn’t sanctioned or even passed comment on the shoot on sight, ask questions later government there - they must think it’s quite ok.
