Let's not attack @Jimmy C for being a "non holder" but on the strength of his arguments.
I have been a non holder "downramping" SGH for the last year or two, that lead me to look at SHJ which may prove a good one.
The idea with stocks is not to be monogamous but try them all out instead.
Jimmy still hasn't put forward a case on why he is so sure that the company has been overstating it's profits through WIP (it's a possibility but not certain). Short sellers are allowed to comment and let's be honest if people do that you need to learn to take it with a pinch of salt.
The best short sellers pick companies which they know have serious issues, Jimmy hasn't demonstrated that to me yet.
In fact I would speculate that he is not a shorter just representative of Mr Markets' opinion on the stock.
These are the sort of comments I always hear, regardless of the stock I am buying. Business model is dead, management are failures, industry in permanent decline. Business is poor "quality".
This now translates in my head as maybe the stock is cheap. It's pretty much the mainstream view for this stock to be 50c so why be offended?
Unless pretty much everyone hates what you are buying it's unlikely to be a good investment.
I can't value the WIP myself so I don't know for sure but I suspect it is a pretty good one. I would really like the bulls or bears to convince me either way, either save me some money or make me a motza.
The discussions from all sides on SHJ have been good and financially above my level. Let's not pick sides like the forsaken souls at SGH did to their detriment.
