it shouldn't be a huge issue. you're right in that environmental concerns are very real, but I think that's partly why there's a focus on net zero carbon.
I've spoken to the company and, in my subjective understanding of the conversation, I was led to believe that local community is broadly supportive of investment in the area, and pastoralists aren't anticipated to be a problem.
and I've said before, alpha project isn't in easy drive distance from any soy latte cafes so greenies shouldn't interfere.
there were challenges with a retort in Gladstone but Gladstone is practically New York City compared to alpha, so you'd expect more community opposition.
but as Neil has iterated to me in the past - environmental issues are always a hurdle for any mining project. but management seem to be doing their dangdest to make it as "green" and politically palatable as possible.
