GS Role

I have just done some research on GS roles and previous job responsibility.

I believed that GS is hired by SGH as due diligence consultant and to come out with a financial modelling for opex projections for SGH. This will then be reviewed by MGN, which is the independent advisor which acts on behalf of the bank syndicate to determine validity of GS model, feasibility, key issues and risks involved.

If my guess is right, then news regarding GS shouldn't be treated as something bad.

I have found a case study which is pretty useful, as it involved both the role of SGH and MGN, which gives us some indication of both the roles of GS and MGN in SGH debt restructuring.
