Glaxo says well placed to make acquisitions Wed Feb 8, 2006 7:28 AM ET
LONDON, Feb 8 (Reuters) - GlaxoSmithKline Plc (GSK.L: Quote, Profile, Research) Chief Executive Jean-Pierre Garnier said on Wednesday the drug maker's strong cash generation and balance sheet left it well placed to make strategic acquisitions.
"We have a very strong balance sheet and that will be important as we see businesses becoming available for acquisitions -- strategic companies that could be acquired if needed," he told a post-results news conference.
