We'll have to see how that goes..
China is positioning themselves, to have the next World Reserve Currency.
That, would be the final nail in the coffin, for the US dollar.

They will very quickly have hyperinflation, without Reserve status, with their mountainous money supply.

Between December 2019 and August 2021, the U.S. money supply, measured by M2, grew by $5.5 trillion, a stunning 35.7% increase in only a year and a half, driven primarily by the Fed's purchases of Treasurys and mortgage-backed securities.21 Oct 2021

The last time I recall someone try to introduce a gold backed currency, it was Gaddafi, who after more than 40 years of being a dictator, suddenly became "a very bad man" in the eyes of the United States and had to be stopped and overthrown.

Going to be interesting, to see what happens, to say the least..
