IMHO Retailers like Harvey Norman, Dick Smith and Bunnings have all been collecting huge mark ups by buying cheap Asian product and selling it here but when the public cut them out and take advantage of the cheap prices, suddenly these firms cry foul and want to take their bat and ball and sulk all the way home"
And apart from F-all, this has what to do with whether gst should be levied on a sale, be it a foreign/domestic online sale, or a domestic bricks and mortar firm?
I'd be thoroughly pissed off if I sell a widget I make in Australia, online[which I make at the same price as an overseas manufacturer] , and my customer has to pay 10% gst , and a customer importing a similar item doesn't.
