Bit like trying to reform a drug addict.
First they don't see they have a problem.
Secondly they don't want your help and will resist it at all costs. And once off drugs will in cases resent your help or your attempt to have helped. Your left with No thanks and a hope they won't return to their addiction.

Solution.
"Leave them alone" and "keep them out".
Leaving them alone is easy keeping them out isn't.
