I know the view on a number of lithium sites is that shorts are the ultimate cause of share price movements but GT1's shorts on 16 Oct were 0.89% of shares on issue. On 2 June shorts were 0.94% so across the rest of June the July, August, Sept and the first half of October Shorts were a fractional net buyer. Over that same time GT1 fell from 71.5 to the current mid-low 40c range.

I'll accept that shorts increasing may have assisted share price declines, but when they bought back for a net zero change over the period, they somehow avoided increasing the price. IMO shorts are not in this instance the primary cause of the soft share price (at least from their buying/selling activity). The traders behind shorts may be placing negative social media stories that contribute to a weaker share price. It wouldn't surprise me to find shorts are contributing somehow behind "interesting" media articles such as asking competitors of Telsa are your sales roaring ahead and getting a story about how its hard to sell their EV models (Because Telsa has a really high market share in the US).
