Good post Mongy.

IMHO the sooner someone will start converting gas in to diesel and/or other types of fuel, the better. I am all for it. IMO it is the Politicians that they aren't encouraging it more than what they should. Yet again we all know what the Pollies will and won't do...don't we.???
Perhaps the big oil company lean towards the pollies a little more than what they should be allowed to do...Who knows....

As for the price of diesel let me share with you my experience in that regard. I use quite a reasonable amount of Diesel each and every month of the year in my business, and it wasn't so long ago, (a year or a little more) that I spoke to BP and Mobil about the sky high prices when the diesel is derived from practically the rubbish, or from what is left after everything else has been taken out from the crude. Their reply was that the mining companies were taking all of their available production and that they were willing to pay any price to get it.

They also told me that, if it wasn't because they were restricted by regulations they wouldn't be bothering to sell diesel to every Tom Dick and Harry around the Country when they could sell all of their production to the mining companies with more money per litre in return.

Now we come to the crunch, I am sure that you would have noticed a sharp drop in prices for diesel at the bowser over the last quiet a few months. All you have to realise then, is that the mining companies are in a bit of a bind now and where they wouldn't be using as much diesel as they were using over the last decade or so. And then you will have to add to that the fall in price of crude oil as well.

Hence why the price of diesel has come down to a more reasonable figure. I am getting diesel now at nearly 50 cents per litre cheaper than what I used to pay for it some time ago. Has the price of diesel come down in the NT too.??
