you seem to be confused about who you are talking about. the first sentence says Israel and the second "the Jews". if the post had been 3 sentences I bet you would have mentioned Zionists.

Israel is trying to achieve its goals of rescuing the hostages and eliminating Hamas. it remains to be seen if they can do this before a pause is initiated.
if Hamas releases the hostages there would be a ceasefire.
