I think they did give a profit downgrade in Sept 2015.
BHP’s June half (second-half) net profit, including the contribution of assets from the May spin-off of South 32, fell 68 per cent to $US1.8bn,

I am guessing but the commodities crash happened so fast and still falling which prevents BHP from calculating a full profit downgrade. The music hasn't stopped.
