We will know the lodgement date because JDP will be watching the US patent applications database carefully, and he will kindly tell us the same day when it happens *.
We all need to care about the lodgement date because the US patent will expire 20 years from the filing date (i.e. not from the patent approval date), and bisantrene will become a generic.
The first patient dosed date would be a separate competition.
