Hi ex-Yank, yes it's curious how that happens. I think the main time it happens is when WES is being heavily traded and the share price gets out of synch. WESN doesn't have the volumes and there's often quite a difference between the buy and sell price. It can be a good buy opportunity when you catch WESN just before a run up.
On the other hand, when you're looking for just a quick trade, WES can be better because of the liquidity. My guess is the large traders usually by WES for that reason.
