I'm confused as to relevance of references to 2600 ms & 2800 ms...

    I'm confused as to relevance of references to 2600 ms & 2800 ms for the layman. ms = millisecond = measure of depth by seismic, the number of milliseconds depending on DENSITY of overlying ground, & little to do with ACTUAL DEPTH. I imagine that seismic waves propagate faster thougIh dense ground & slower through lighter ground. Actual depths of targets = ?
