The student debt problem is a big sleeper DM. Probably demands a thread or two on its own.
The mismanagement and waste is of mind-boggling proportions and the figures they mention could be just the tip of the ice-berg - you never know with Guvnuts!!
The real sad thing is that there are heaps of Guvnut mismanagement and waste but the amounts pale into insignificance when compared with student debt issue.
That old rule applies - whenever Guvnuts "meddle" there are unintended consequences - as you said this is on a grand sale. There are always "parasites" just waiting to take advantage - witness the pink batts fiasco.
