    Evening,

"Just a quick reminder - a gun is commonly described by all as a weapon"

Arrh, actually, it is correctly described as a firearm.

    A weapon is different.

A weapon is a thing that is used to attack or defend. It can be a gun or a knife or a car etc. etc.

A gun has many purposes - and some of them not only useful but rather desirable in some circumstances.

I have 3 guns, one of which I hope never to use - it is a multi shot 12 gauge shotgun, for which I only store very hard hitting cartridges.

It's sole purpose in life is to wait in my safe for a day when I have to put down a large animal in distress. Eg. A horse with a fractured leg or similar.
It happens and I am too far from a vet. To make it practical. Also, a large animal has a bad death with injection, vets in fact use a gun where necessary.

Also, in a bushfire, one may have to put down many large badly burned animals - and, I can tell you a 22 just won't cut the mustard.

There is a place for guns - let's just hope we don't have to use them. And of course, never as weapons.

    Have a great night
