Siege gunman's wife in hate-filled YouTube videos

The wife of Sydney siege gunman Man Haron Monis posted a series of chilling videos online describing herself as a terrorist, expressing happiness at the 2002 Bali terror bombings and blaming rape victims for their attacks.

Police raided the home of Amirah Droudis, 35, yesterday after Monis was killed in gunfire with officers at the end of the 17-hour siege at the Lindt café in Martin Place.

Droudis has been widely reported as Monis' long-time girlfriend but her brother John Aspros told the Daily Mail that she and Monis were married.

Droudis acted as Monis' spokeswoman during their relationship, News Corp reports, and appears to have done the self-styled Islamic cleric's bidding in several offensive videos posted four years ago that still appear on YouTube.

"I regret to say I am a terrorist. I admit and formally confess that for many years I have been a terrorist, but I'll try not to be anymore," a woman, believed to be Droudis but whose face is covered by a niqab, says in one video.

A link to Monis' website appears at the bottom of the video.

In another video post, the women describes the September 11 terror attacks in New York and Washington and the Al Qaeda-linked Bali bombings as "acts of God".

"Yes, we are happy about the punishment of September 11. Yes, we are happy about the punishment in Bali. Yes, we are happy about the punishment of the Holocaust and any other punishment that God sends to us," she says.

In another video discussing rape, the woman says: "It is not fair if we condemn the rapist without condemning the one who has encouraged the rape."

Droudis is currently on bail after being charged with the murder of Monis' first wife, Noleen Hayson Pal, who was found stabbed 18 times and with her body set alight in the stairwell of her apartment building last year.

Droudis and Monis were also convicted and sentenced to community service last year after sending offensive letters to the families of Australian soldiers killed by insurgents in Afghanistan.
