I don't know where gaanp got his info from. I live in the area and have seen none of that. The road works were public roads, publicly funded. There's definitely no sight of a workers village and all that seems to have happened is they've moved a few rocks around and maybe made a carpark. The only pub in town owned by Gunns, The Gunners Arms,burnt out ages ago and has never reopened.
