Speaking as a retired farmer, in most States you can clear 5 acres around your house without a permit. That said, most farmers require some shade in the garden, both to cool the house as the sun rises and sets, and to create an oasis of green in an otherwise bleak landscape. When you've been out all day in the dust and the blistering sun you need that oasis for peace of mind. It does however require that the guttering is cleared every month; not only for fire safety, but because rain water from your roof is usually your household water supply, and it fouls your supply if not cleaned regularly. In my experience gutter guards and machines (blasters, vacuums etc) are not practical due to slime and leaf composition, which often includes phyllode type leaf composition. Hand cleaning is just a chore that must be done.

Barg Half inch copper tube in the end of your hose couple of bends to suit your gutter profiles and do most off the ground. Need a good missus to turn hose off and on as required.
