I have no reason to support or defend Simon on Ching but as Woodie are the main man with The Ching Field I do not believe HDR could do anything but go along with Woodies timetable on The Ching Field. Simon may well have protested to Woodie and may have said things that have rebounded on him but he was between a rock and a hard place. If Woodie were to not prepared to move quickly on remedial action for Ching then neither could HDR. It must have been very frustrating at times for HDR watching their operating costs increase with little chance of further financial benefit from their one producing asset.

It is very easy to point the finger at Simon and his team but it was Woodie who said when the monthly meetings regarding Ching would be held and it is towards Woodie we should look for reasons as to why HDR ran in to difficulties in Mauritania

With regard to Guyane I feel Simon could bare his soul on what happened there to cause the delay in a farmin
