... because the longer he holds on the longer he gets paid. Unfortunately, egos distort rational thinking and I think that is the case here. He just cannot see what everybody is so p*ssed off about with what he has (or hasn't!) done. I think he honestly, but delusionally, thinks he is doing a good job and I dont see how he will start to see what is staring him in the face - until its too late for him.
