im (and others) are of the opinion that with Gxy modular approach they have previously discussed, have the ability to progressively ramp up production.
this will dramatically reduce initial capex cost. My guess is they won’t need anywhere near US$176m ($250m)to get into production.
We know now that SDV currently has a DFS for 25kt pa, however it is increasingly likely that this will look more like 50kt pa with the drilling that has been conducted by GLN south of Gxy tenements.
modular approach may aim for say 5kt pa rather than a the full 25kt pa. Although none of this is new to us.
what is potentially new is the combination with a successfully trial direct extraction technology. This would allow a modular approach to produce near pure battery grade lithium in 2hrs.
A modular build may take approx 3 -6 months? Given no liners are going down, my guess they are already being built.
