You don't think they are well aware of all this and currently assessing the best strategy to proceed with? As outlined in black and white in the last annoucement?
If a deal is not yet done and nothing is concrete- exactly what else do you want them to say other than they are currently assessing the best strategy?
Anything else would be misleading, or counter productive to negotiations.
They are focusing on the immediate job in hand which is accelerated development of SDV and JB to be production ready for this square wave of demand rapidly approaching.
Yes spodumene sales are not the be all and end all, and yes coverting to chemicals will increase margins.
But should we run off and build our own plant? perhaps not. There are others being built in the North American continent and no doubt we are in talks with them about possible partnerships.
I'd much rather they take their time with that and let the pressure in the cooker build up with the rapidly rising spod and chemicals prices.
Let's not take a leaf out of Piedmont's book there and promise all our product at fixed prices set at the cyclical low point.
Another 6 months of rising prices at this rate and our resource is going to have a lot of eyes on it.
