Too true chookie. I guess traders sit on the sidelines to see where the 'smart' money thinks the overnight trend will be, then follow the leader.
Sometimes when it is a bear night, you will see the dollar drop off right at 4.10 after the close of auction. If you wait an hour and a half (or so) you can catch a good reversal trade before the US opens as it will get oversold.
Not always gospel, but it is interesting to see how patterns do repeat.
