I have just noticed the newest catalogue which includes another awesome big brands offer. The newest catalogue I got in email looks incredibly solid in terms of merchandise.
Interestingly enough the management decided to change pricing from rounded whole number dollars eg $1, $3, $7 to add decimal cents value eg $3.40 or $2.30... This has not been the practice till now. It is interesting to see it in stores too. Wondering if this is designed to impact margin considerably in H2. It seems that they got the merchandise right and now tweaking pricing slightly. I mean 20c, 40c increase doesnt seem much from customer view but the net profit will benefit significantly on a $400mil H2 sales....
Just sharing an observation. Any thoughts on this one?
Also looking at retail space Reject Shop and Kmart are doing very well comparing to others. For example are we getting MYR lost sales through TRS cashiers? As we discussed in no wage growth times TRS seems to be well positioned to capitalise on this. We might be owning hot commodity now.
