H2O is not a problem - it's a good thing.
H2O is in fact the reason that the flow rates are so damn high - well they should be once commissioning of the gas lift is complete .
H2O helps push the oil out of the sand and up the well - and results in very high flow rates.
30,000 bopd are exceptionally high rates.
the process by which water assists in this way,and is a fortunate feature in AED's wells, is known as "aquifer support".
To increase flow rates in Saudi Arabian wells for instance - they need to find water(and that's expensive and not readily available) and have to then pump it down into the reservoir to force the oil out - and create the "aquifer support" to help induce higher flow rates.
Now why is gas lift required? ..
Well the water that forces the oil out of the sands and up the well would normally reach the top of the well ahead of the oil (which would be a bad thing) - without gas lift.
so Gas lift ensures that the oil bubbles out of the sand and reaches the top of the well ahead of the water.
Gas lift is a good thing, Aquifer Support is a good thing.
AED is a good thing in my opinion.
