Geographically Canada and USA share the same land mass, only separated by a river.

The deadly H5N1 virus is now kind of close to home for our American friends. Any complacentcy should now go out the window. I now think we can expect Congress to approve anything Dubya wants in relation to bird flu.

CANADIAN officials have discovered the H5N1 avian influenza virus in wild migratory birds in the central province of Manitoba, Radio-Canada reported overnight.

Radio-Canada said the virus was not the same strain that killed more than 60 people and prompted the culling of millions of birds in Asia.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency, which planned to hold a news conference later Saturday to discuss the results of a wild bird survey conducted in past months, would not confirm the report.
