Just read this article re: a new application for Hafnium

    http://www.raremetalblog.com/2012/04/hafnium-oxide-film-uv-excitation-white-light.html#more

Now I am wondering: Why do our presentations announce the DZP as a "world class resource of zirconium, hafnium, niobium, tantalum, yttrium and rare earths" ( p. 3 of http://www.alkane.com.au/presentations/pdf/20120201.pdf ) but never talk about a hafnium product? I mean, tantalum doesn't show up in the production forecasts either, but at least they are looking into a tantalum product (p 21).
Since zirconium and hafnium are chemically very much alike, they should come out of the solution together, and then you need to seperate them anyway to get to the zirconium products, don't you?

So is Hafnium just too cheap to refine afterwards to be worth the effort? Is the amount of Hafnium in the ore too small to bother (1.94% Zr02, 0.04%HfO2; but Tantalum is even rarer in the ore (0.03% Ta2O5) ... cf. p 9 of http://www.alkane.com.au/presentations/pdf/20120201.pdf ) ? Or is it just something they will take care of at a later stage?
